Trudy Ebsworth-Espie

"I have been making pots since I left Art Collage in 1983. My pots and sculptures are mainly thrown on the potters wheel. I enjoy making functional pots also commission pieces. My love of animals and wildlife has an influence on my work"

Born in Tenby, Wales, Trudy spent her early years in a small village in Pembrokeshire, Wales UK.

Trudy studied ceramics in Dyfed Collage of Art. Worked in Pendine Pottery and Heron Pottery in Pembroke and Jersey Pottery Ch Is.

In 1983 she then began work in Waimea Pottery in Nelson, New Zealand as a production potter/self employed and had several exhibitions. Moved to Australia worked in several potteries (Earth & Fire Pottery NSW, Grettey Pottery QLD) before moving to Tasmania where she ran her own business, specialised in making commission  work for numerous restaurants.

Trudy Returned to Wales in 2007 and made hand thrown garden and domestic ware from her studio in St Clears, South Wales.

March 2020 Trudy Returning to Australia to set up her pottery workshop at Lakewood NSW where she makes hand thrown Kitchen and garden ware. Her work is displayed at The Glasshouse in port Macquarie, you will also find her at local markets that she notifies on social media.

She acknowledges the Birpai people, the traditional owners of the land in which she works and lives, and pays her respect to Elders Past, Present and emerging.
